Hey guys! Meto, LARM, Kate and I decided to record a minisode all about the trailer this afternoon. I gave them about 5 seconds notice, so YAY for them for being around to record with me! We analyze the trailer and also discuss our reactions!

The episode is now up in NFFR's jukebox on the main page and should be appearing shortly on iTunes if it isn't there already. Thanks for listening!

Send in your thoughts on the trailer using the feedback form at www.ascastpodcast.com. smile

Is it bad that I keep catching myself about to chime in with my opinion as I'm listening? Hahaha.

Um, I'm doing the same thing. And the weird thing is, like 10 seconds later, Kate's saying almost exactly what I'm thinking.  Facepalm

Aha I LOVE this! Made me laugh you all somehow managed to turn the entire trailer into Caspian and Lucy recreational time. And great, also, to hear thoughts and theories. There were a few I hadn't considered yet, so that was really cool to hear.

I loved the episode, ladies!  Made me laugh, and think about somethings.  ("Second star to the right, and straight on 'til morning" - I recognize that from Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country!)

For the Peter enlisting thing, I might've believed that if Lewis hadn't wrote that he was staying with Digory that summer.

Wonderful epi ladies!  Great job as usual!!  Thumbs up!

I was actually thinking of Peter Pan, but that works too, lol.

Hi Ascast ladies!  woot!

I'm about half-way through your podcast, so I probably will edit this, but I came downstairs just to say, the music in the trailer did not contain any clips of David Arnold's (that's the new music guy) soundrack:

(00:07-00:23) "Prologue (Through the Wall)" ~ Ilan Eshkeri (StarDust OST)
(00:24-00:35) "Magical Mystery" ~ Brand X Music / Magic Box Music
(00:40-01:18) "Glory and Honor" ~Two Steps From Hell
(01:19-01:53) "Heart of Courage"~Two Steps From Hell
(01:54-02:04) "The Black Legend" ~Immediate Music

nod You guys are amazing! (Extracurricular activities  wvll )

I am officially addicted to your podcast after subscribing to it a week and a half ago!

*Jaw drops* Really? Not the Narnia music? Aw shucks. And I was so excited to hear the soundtrack because of it. (Although I am still excited. Only now it's kind of a disappointed-excited). Still - I am so getting that music on my ipod now, because it will be SO inspirational for writing!

Okay, that's really cool, and I had no idea it wasn't music from the actual movie!  Do they do that a lot in film trailers, and have I just always missed it?  Also, I'm rather impressed that you could figure out what WAS being used.  Thanks for the cool info, humdedum!

This is actually really common (and can lead to post production problems when film editors have been showing clips to execs who fall in love with a particular copyrighted piece of music).

Certain music shows up in trailers a lot, including Requiem for a Dream, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Requiem_for_a_Dream_%28soundtrack%29

Brian Tyler's music from the SyFy production of Children of Dune has shown up in many trailers as well, including the Narnia LWW super trailer, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Herbert%27s_Children_of_Dune#Soundtrack

Requiem was actually in The Two Towers trailer.  Clap  It's an epically awesome song, but now pretty common in trailers.
