I think we should just call Trumpkin Trumplestiltskin from now on. I love you ladies.
And a note on Dwarfs passing as humans - I don't know if Lewis was thinking of this or if it was just more 'magical air' (again, I adore you lot), but most of the oldest Dwarf mythology shows them as being basically the same size as humans . . . so maybe we could just say that the Narnian Dwarfs aren't quite as short as our more modern mythology would make us believe.
Pomona - the Roman goddess of fruit trees, gardens, and orchards, often represented as a wood nymph. Jolly good point there about Aslan and the other guys. Lewis LOVES weaving mythology into his stories - I think it's probably the biggest supporting point in is own statement that Narnia is not Christian allegory.
About Narnian racism - I agree to some extent, though I would point out that while Nikabrik does end up 'bad,' the other Black Dwarfs are still fighting with the Narnians, so maybe there's a bit of hope there.
Peter's characterization - that was actually my one biggest problem with the movie. I can appreciate that you ladies who said so would prefer the Movie-Peter for his character development, but I just thought that it could have been done . . . better? I don't know, I just had issues with Angry!Peter, versus maybe a confused and unsure Peter . . . bleh. It's okay, fanfic is all about being able to peacefully coexist even with our different opinions. And about Peter in the book just giving power to Caspian - I think it's because it was clearly Aslan's desire to call them into Narnia to put Caspian on the throne, not to rule again themselves. But y'all are right, the different Peter IS good for movie drama.
@ Ruth - I want minions!! But alas, I am probably more minion material right now rather than a Keeper of Minions.
I never hardcopy edit my fics either . . . in fact, they're hidden within piles and piles of "New Folder"s.
Speaking of WW2, my dad and I were just watching, over the past couple of days, a presentation of "Band of Brothers", about Easy Company which helped take the beach on D-Day, then helped win at the Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge), then just continued on through Poland etc on into Germany. Very graphic (aaah!) but very well-done and moving.
PLANET EARTH!! WHOOOOO! That series is pretty darn fantastic!
Spare Oom - solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short - not for rrrrrrth!
Please please please please write that "we're not in Kansas anymore" story!
Lewis has written that children should fill in the gaps in Narnia, yes - I think he would LOVE fanfiction. Though honestly, I'm not sure how he'd feel about more adult-relatable fanfic in general . . . there's all that stuff out there speculating about Lewis being terrified of growing up/adult life . . . I don't know that all that's true, but seriously, we will never know, so does it really matter? I think not.
I will never look at anyone with a Bluetooth the same way again - they will all always be talking to themselves about Narnia from now on.
You may have had self-loathing, but we are SO glad that you're writing Narnia fanfic!!!

Adding my personal Neffer force to the recommendation of Anastigmat's Breaking the Borders, definitely. And also the Andi Horton recommendation. Both authors' entire bodies of work are just fantastic.
Awww, you're welcome, ladies! Thanks for the shoutout - I love this place so much.
Yet another fantastic podcast!!
